Cheryl with TMT Fan Marie Ödman, who writes:

Jönköping (Sweden) November 21 1998. I went to see the group (about 2 1/2 hours away from my home)the night before. It was the only concert they did in Sweden that year (as a matter of fact, they haven't been here since). It was just fabulous, of course! After the concert, I met Alan (I had met him and the whole group also in Catania, Italy, in October 1992).

The day after the concert I went to the centre of Jönköping with my child hood friend, who lives there, and we walked in to this coffe shop. Guess who was inside that coffee shop! Cheryl was sitting there, I couldn't believe my eyes!!! So I started talking to her, telling her that we met in Italy. I asked her if I could have a picture taken with her, and here's the result!

She's just wonderful, and so down-to-earth and easy to speak with. It's a wonderful experience to have met them, being my musical heroes forever from when I was 10 (I'm now 34), since I'm a singer myself. I have also sung a lot of their songs, myself! I'm really looking forward to see them in concert, and maybe meet them again here in Sweden. I just hope they will come here this year, since they haven't been here since 1998!"

Ronnie says: "I loved the concert. I thought it was one of the best ones of theirs I had seen and heard. It looked to me like they were really enjoying themselves. They all came out after the show! They were all friendly. It was fun talking to them. I actually stumped Tim with my knowledge of jazz. I hear he is an expert on jazz. My husband said he was enjoying talking to me and he probably doesn't run into too many people who hold such conversations with him. They seemed to really enjoy performing in Rahway. Alan is just a wonderful person. Very sincere."

Stacey also says "The show was great!!! They all seemed to be really enjoying themselves. The audience was there to see them -- sometimes the audience seems like they just happened to walk in on a concert and the group has to almost "prove" themselves to the audience -- but not this bunch. Standing ovations and everything.

I think it was just before the third song that there was a loud crackling and bang! I thought for sure Cheryl had gotten fried -- I was watching her and she was just grabbing the microphone. After the bang, the stage lights went off and the house lights went on. I don't know what happened (Cheryl said she didn't either -- she thought she bought the farm, too!) but the only light on them for the next song was one spotlight! The lighting guys finally got it fixed.

The group came out to the front of the stage after the show and sat around or stood around and talked to us. There were maybe about 30 people hanging around -- some seemed to be family or old friends and the rest were us fan-like people.

So when we were talking to the group after the concert, I noticed it was getting late and that my mom would be worried (as moms get, you know). I asked Cheryl if she would talk to my mom on my cell phone to tell her I'd be home soon. Hey! I figured she has a sense of humor similar to mine so I thought I'd see if she was game. She WAS! My mom was thrilled (and confused!) to get a personal call from Cheryl. Funny! Cheryl mentioned to mom that I had gotten her "a fantastic Mother's Day gift" which, of course, I hadn't yet. I was in deep trouble!! No stores opened at 11:00 pm on Saturday night! Anyway, it was fun and I was thankful that Cheryl didn't think I was a nut case!

The concert was one of the best! The group seemed to enjoy it! The crowd really enjoyed it! Now I have to find a place they will be that's not too far away so I can see them again soon!
