on Another Place And Time

Orchestra Conducted By David Snyder
Album Produced by David Snyder and Alan Paul

Alan Paul knows his way around a good song. After all, he's been crooning with the legendary pop/jazz vocal quartet The Manhattan Transfer for over three decades. Yet this is the debut solo album for the handsome baritone. Was it worth the wait? Man, was it ever! Just listen to these tunes... from his definitive version of Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust" to the premiere recording of the new Michel Legrand title track, which is destined to become a classic.

Alan works his vocal magic on lush ballads, ("I Get Along Without You"), hip swingers ("How Little We Know"), cool cocktail tunes ("Can't Get Out Of This Mood"), exotic foreign melodies ("Baia"), and even a lollapalooza of a duet with his Transfer partner Janis Siegel ("Everything's Made For Love"). And the arrangements! Killers, each and every one. Alan sings and swings on a groovin' musical trek thirty years in the making, sending us happily, willingly on an estatic aural journey to... Another Place And Time!
